As in France, more web visits in Spain use Internet Explorer 7 than Firefox 2 |
Made available on-line earlier, IE7 has a considerable head start in terms of the web visits generated. During the week of 18 to 24 September 2006, 0.9% of visits in Spain were made using the beta version of the Internet Explorer 7 browser, compared with 0.2% using the beta version of Firefox.
The beta versions of both browsers have advanced over the last 9 weeks:
- IE7 has seen its proportion multiplied by 1.7,
- while the share of Firefox 2 has doubled.

The market shares of the beta versions are a little closer than the overall Internet Explorer and Firefox families' market shares, but the trend is considerably less marked than in France. |
During the week of 18 to 24 September 2006, 86% of web visits using Internet Explorer or Firefox can be attributed to the market leader, compared with 82% for visits using beta versions. The differential is thus smaller than in France for the same period (80%/58%).
In terms of evolution, Spanish visits using a beta version of the Firefox 2 browser have multiplied by 2.5 in 9 weeks, against 2 for visits using IE7 beta:
