Windows still leaves its competitors, Mac and Linux, well behind |

Mac ranks second and Linux third, respectively with 3.2% and 0.8% of visits between 30 November and 5 December 2006.
The other operating systems (PSP, Unix …) clearly are in minority with 0.3% of visits over the same period.

The impact of the launch of Windows Vista’s professional version is not tangible yet |
The new operating system, Windows Vista, has been officially available since 30 November 2006 for private and public sector companies, as well as public administration. This distribution, still limited, has therefore not revolutionized the market: for all Windows visits, 0.2% was performed with Vista from 30 November to 5 December 2006, as compared to 0.1% from 1 to 29 November 2006.
Within the Windows family, XP clearly leads with 91.1% of visits between 30 November and 1 December 2006, followed by Windows 2000 (4.4%) and Windows 98 (2.2%).
The launch of the Windows Vista home version in January 2007 should accelerate its development. Consult XiTi Monitor over the next few months to follow this evolution.
