| TOP 5: Google on the verge of 90% of visit shares |
Google achieves 89.98% of the visits in August 2007, leaving no summer respite to the search engines Yahoo! (3.17%), MSN (2.33%), Orange (1.82%) and Free (0.69%).

Google continues its conquest:
- 89.98% of the visits in August 2007 vs. 89.79% in July 2007 (+0.19 points),
- On a one-year vision, between August 2006 and August 2007, that represents a gain of 3.76 points in visit shares.
Its 4 principal competitors, all losing speed over the 13 last months, also show a drop in August with the exception of Yahoo!:
- Yahoo! shows the greatest drop over one year with -1.34 points (August 2007 vs. August 2006), but for August 2007, and for the first time since January 2007, its visit shares are slightly progressing: 3.17% vs. 3.14% in July 2007,
- -0.75 points for Orange over one year, accompanied by a drop in its visit share in August 2007: 1.82% of the visits vs. 1.89% in July,
- -0.38 points for MSN between August 2006 and August 2007, and -0.15 points over the last two months,
- -0.22 points for Free over one year, of which the share passes from 0.72% to 0.69% between July and August 2007.

| Top 15: no vacation in August for Ask, Wikio and 9Online |
AOL, Alice, Voilà, AltaVista and Ask still occupy the 6th to 10th places on the search engines honors list in August 2007. This honors list is completed by 9Online, Exalead, Virgilio, Wikio (who makes its appearance this month in the top 15) and Lycos.

Faced with the dynamism of Google, 7 search engines within this top 15 nonetheless achieve a good month of August 2007:
- Ask, Wikio and 9Online acknowledge the greatest progression of the month (proportionally to their visit shares, inferior to 0.1%): respectively +27.1%, +21.6% and +13.4%,
- +2.5% for Exalead and Voilà, and +1.3% for Alice,
- Finally, the fall of Yahoo! is stopped this month with a rise of 0.8% in its visit share.
7 search engines are, on the other hand, in difficulty, particularly AltaVista (-11.2%), Virgilio (-6.7%) and MSN (-5.9%).
Google didn’t reach 90% of the visit shares in August… Will it do it in September or will this ultimate level remain insurmountable?
