What Trauma Cases can Be Treated with Homeopathic Remedies

Homeopathy encourages the natural tendency to heal the body by stimulating the self-healing process at all levels, using the life energy coming from the animal, mineral, and plant kingdom. Homeopathic remedies give results in any condition, even in the case of trauma.

The methods of homeopathic treatment can make their contribution as a form of complementary or adjuvant treatment, in solving the cases of traumatology. Here’s a top 3 of them:

  • In contusions that occur as a result of accidents where a blunt object is involved or after a fall, with the appearance of bruises due to the injury of the superficial small vessels. In these situations, homeopathic remedy with Arnica and/or Bellis Perenis is recommended. The latter being indicated especially in contusions in the trunk or mammary gland.
  • In sprains (lesions of the capsuloligamentary apparatus and of the periarticular soft tissues). According to the particularities of the case, Rhus Toxicodendron – considered the main homeopathic medicine of the sprains that can contribute to the healing of the lesions – is indicated. In the case of more severe ligament injuries, with fiber breaks, the Ruta Graveolens medicine is preferred, which can be used alternatively with Arnica. Bryonia is indicated in the case of sprain with pain at the slightest movement of the affected joint.

  • In fractures (discontinuation of bone continuity, following the action of traumatic factors), drugs are indicated that help to better consolidation, especially in the case of fractures with delayed consolidation. The main drug in these cases is Symphytum Officinale, which can be administered alternatively with Calcarea Phoshorica (homeopathic calcium phosphate). Symphytum is also indicated in bone or periosteum pain after trauma and amputation pain, such as Hypericum or Staphysagria.

Arnica is extremely valuable in the treatment of trauma because it has anti-inflammatory and antiseptic actions. This stimulates the process of tissue regeneration, speeding up healing. It is also useful in the case of emotional trauma, successfully healing depression, neurosis or palpitations, insomnia or nightmares that have occurred on a traumatic background.

Homeopathic remedies are not a substitute for the conventional medication indicated by the orthopedic doctor. The most effective treatment can only be established by a homeopathic specialist.
